The Florida Author and Publishers Association (FAPA) has awarded medals to both of Olivia deBelle Byrd’s books. In 2011, Miss Hildreth Wore Brown—Anecdotes of a Southern Belle was awarded silver medals for Florida Fiction for Adults and Cover Design. In 2015, Save My Place won gold medals for Florida Fiction for Adults and Cover Design.

The winners were selected in the following categories by the competition’s 31 judges - 27 national state librarians and four publishing professionals.
